Excerpt from IVSC Members email Feb 2024. Everyone at the IVSC would like to thank John Martin as he concludes his tenure as Chair of the Advisory Forum Working Group (AFWG), a role he has held since the inception of the group more than a decade ago. We also celebrate the appointments of Ben Elder as the new Chair and Aida Dedajic as Vice Chair of the AFWG.
The AFWG is instrumental in fostering dialogue among Valuation Professional Organisations (VPOs) and between VPOs and the IVSC. It serves as a an important platform for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and insights into major trends that are defining the future of valuation professionalism. This includes discussions on the implementation of international standards, and initiatives in education and professional development.
John’s leadership has been vital to the AFWG’s success since its foundation. Under his guidance, the group has continued to evolve and made significant strides in its mission, promoting engagement across the VPO network through both in-person and virtual meetings, as well as sessions at the AGM. John’s commitment and his collaborative approach have been crucial in shaping the forum’s evolution and ensuring that VPOs play a significant role within the IVSC and the broader global valuation profession. The IVSC is immensely appreciative of John’s dedication and good-humoured support over many years.
